The train to somewhere
Ever set a goal and wake up one day, years later, realizing that you missed the bus, missed the train, missed the plane of opportunity?
Travel.
It's a great way to adjust our perspective, getting away from the norm, routine day-to-day life.
Country roads and fresh air have a way of opening the senses. Every year, I try to get back to my home state, Indiana. This year, we took a different way home and before I realized it .. we were very close to where my ancestors lived .. early settlers.
Flowers in full bloom, streams gurgling down deep hill ravines, trees so tall I could barely see the sky .. I found myself thinking about what makes a person happy. And what goals I had. And whether those goals are still my same goals, if they will fulfill my destiny.
Grandma. Several generations ago. Daddy said she lived with no electricity. She was in her early nineties when she finally had a solitary lightbulb hung on a string in the middle of the living room.
Simple means. My family was a hard working people whose sole goal was providing food for our family and others, building a roof over their heads, and being kind to their fellow man.
Have goals not changed over the years?
About 10 years ago, I wrote my first book and did nothing to share my story. I had great goals. I was brave in telling my story of being a survivor of childhood trauma. Did a few speaking engagements. Held a couple book signings.
And nothing. Else.
A few days ago, it hit me. That people still need to hear my story. And that we can all share our ways of overcoming.
So I made the decision that it's time to follow my heart. Admittedly, it's scary. But I can't wait to see where this road leads.
Time to get back on track, so to speak.
I have many goals. I am writing a sequel to my first book and I am writing a fantasy fiction series, Tales from Fergie Shire. You will love it! Additionally, I want to roll out a mobile app for my subscribers. And set up that YouTube channel for videos.
I will blog and share my story. And we will have some fun.
Blessings from the Pixie Lantern ❤️
